The funding secured will support our local communities to come together taking account of social distancing requirements and also will increase footfall by encouraging people into our local towns and villages.
In welcoming the funding Cllr Mary Bohan said “The funding announced today for Leitrim by the Department of Rural and Community Development under the Towns & Village accelerated Scheme will further enhance and develop the villages of Tullaghan, Glenfarne and Leitrim Village. Currently the County is operating under Level 3 restrictions and as we adapt Leitrim to the challenges posed by COVID-19, the projects being funded will strengthen the important infrastructure and services in our county’s towns, villages and communities and will support the Council’s aim to make Leitrim the best place it can be in which to live, work, invest and visit.
